December 01, 2013 | New Delhi

This talk by Mr. Vikram Lall was held for FLO (FICCI Ladies Organisation). The discussion was on the amazing confluence of how women have played an important role in the development of Indian music and how music has played a vital part in the empowerment of women. Starting from the realm of folk music to the depths of semi-classical, classical to the fascinating world of film music the talk traced the place of music in the lives of women as well as the place of women in the world of music. As a form of empowerment it illustrated how music became a medium for the voice of women to be heard in a man’s world. The talk was supported by visual presentation showing images of important female personalities in the field of Indian music.
